Welding Manipulators & Welding Positioners

FAQ

General Questions

A welding manipulator is a machine that can rotate or tilt the workpiece, ensuring that the welder always works in the optimal position. This improves weld quality, safety, and efficiency when welding round or complex workpieces.

A welding roller table (also known as a welding roller bench) consists of a driven section and a non-driven unit on which cylinders or tubes can rotate. This allows a weld to be applied continuously and evenly without having to manually rotate the workpiece.

A welding manipulator typically moves the workpiece into various positions (rotating, tilting, lifting), whereas a welding roller table is mainly used to rotate round workpieces during welding.

They are primarily used in mechanical engineering, the pipeline industry, pressure vessel manufacturing, shipbuilding, the energy and chemical sectors, and by construction companies.

Technology & Specifications

That depends on the weight, diameter, and length of the workpiece to be positioned. Choose a rotator sufficient load capacity and adjustable rollers for different pipe diameters.

Our standard models have a load capacity ranging from 1 to 300 tons. Custom solutions are available for heavier applications.

Both options are available. There are manually adjustable positioners, as well as fully automatic systems with remote control and/or PLC control.

Self-adjusting welding roller stands automatically adjust the tilt angle of the rollers to match the diameter of the workpiece. This saves time and prevents surface damage.

Use & Maintenance

Check the bearings, rollers, gears, and motors regularly. Keep the machine free of welding spatter and debris, and lubricate moving parts according to the maintenance instructions.

With proper maintenance, the service life can range from 10 to 20 years, depending on frequency of use and the load.

Purchasing & Customization

Yes, we design and build custom welding manipulators and welding roller tables tailored to the customer’s dimensions, weight class, and requirements.

We can arrange a demonstration at our workshop or, upon request, at your location, so you can experience how the machine works and its benefits.

The standard delivery time for a machine is approximately 3 to 8 weeks. Custom solutions may have a longer delivery time, depending on the specifications.
