Rubber, PU or steel rollers

Rubber, PU or steel: How do you choose the right roller material for your rotator?

In our assortment you will find six different models rotators. These are suitable for different types of workpieces and applications. The D-TLRS and the D-HGZ are more suitable for workpieces with small wall thicknesses due to the double number of self-aligning wheels so that the pressure is better distributed over several wheels. Thus, each model has its own application. But how do you choose the right roller material?

We supply our standard machines with polyurethane (PU), rubber (confined by steel discs) or steel rollers. The material of the workpiece is one of the factors determining the right choice. We recommend PU for stainless steel workpieces and rubber or steel for steel workpieces.

Furthermore, the temperature of the workpiece is important. Rubber rollers can withstand temperatures up to about 150°C, unlike PU rollers, which can only be used up to a maximum of 80-90°C.

At very high tonnages, PU or rubber cannot handle the pressure and then we recommend choosing steel rollers or wider rollers. As mentioned above, our rubber rollers come standard with steel discs for reinforcement, but we can also supply full rubber if desired. These are not standard solutions. Optionally, technically a lot is possible.

The right choice always depends on the application. If you need advice, we are happy to help. Call +31 541 533 369 or send an email to info@dumeta.nl.
